Fresh Start – first public discussions..

Coming up on Wednesday 27, March there’s a chance to find out more about the current thinking about future arts structures for Dumfries and Galloway. Peter Stark OBE, and Kathleen O'Neill of Fresh Starts for the Arts, will hold the first two in a series ofopen sessions exploring some of the options.

They will also be looking at the criteria which should be used to decide what is most suitable for a region that has its own very distinctive character. Both events will involve a presentation and conversation.
Peter has over forty years’ experience of designing and managing structures, programmes and facilities for the arts at national, regional and local levels in the UK and internationally. He is working with Fresh Start as a specialist adviser in this field.Since the start of the year Kathleen has been working with artists and organisations across the region to gather a wide range of views about what the future could and should hold.

If you would like to go along the first discussion will take place at The CatStrand, in New Galloway, at 10am and the second will be at Newton Stewart Library at 2.30pm.

Dates are currently being organised for further sessions in Dumfries and in the East of the region
