Creative Scotland Open Sessions - Easterbrook Hall, Dumfries, 25th April 2013
Well T in the Park got Mumford & Sons, Rihanna and The Killers..... and Creative Scotland is delighted to announce that the headliners for their eagerly awaited Easterbrook Hall gig are:
Tam Dean Burn - actor |
Fiona Dalgetty (musician and Director of Fèis Rois) |
Ewan Morrison - writer |
More details and booking here......
Is this what we have come to....three of Scotland's finest creative talents so beaten down by the beast that they are reduced to taking bookings in somewhere called Dumfries and forced to sing the praises of the evil empire.
ReplyDeleteI have no more words to describe the sheer horror of this nest of vipers that would crush the flower of our nations talent.
Luckily my nephew Big Phil can be always relied on to find the words that will inspire the committed young artist folk onto their darling childsized bicycles of disgust. Never in the field of understandable narcissism, has so much, been owed by so many, to so few journalists.
Mercifully Big Phil and his pal Nasty Ferguson will not have to suffer the taunts of the philistine provinces (there will surely be a clash with a cosy wee opening somewhwere in civilisation..) - rather Tam Bean Curd will suffer for all of us - just as my fluffy little provincial friends must now suffer with him.
Lord forgive them for they know not what they do...and mines another large one
Dear Fiona, Tam and Ewan - the good folk of the South of Scotland will be delighted to welcome you to our patch next month. Our arts scene is growing and vibrant currently with a mix of new work and established festivals and venues. We are also in the midst of an interesting experiment to run the arts regionally through partnership between the sector, local govt and other agencies (eg education, health, tourism, environment and creative scotland)- we hope you'll be interested in what is happening with us and we'll be keenly interested to hear what you have to share with us.
ReplyDeleteFor more info on the emerging regional arts structure check out the 'regional arts scene' and 'Fresh Start' tags in the right hand column of the the blog ...you'll need the web version for this rather than the mobile version.
with very best wishes
The Commonty
ps - pay no heed to Ms McSoireé - she stalks our blog, but has never actually shown her face in the region....we're quite fond of her really
When please, or am i missing something?
ReplyDeleteApologies Mooncat - there have a been a couple of previous posts about the dates etc....and we forgot to add them on to this follow-up post. Details are at the top of the post now and here - http://thecommonty.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/the-cs-conversation-widens.html
