Mary and Drunk Chickens @ Nail Factory

-->
Local writer Mary Smith will be at The Nail Factory gallery and art space in Dalbeattie on Saturday, 9 March from 7 pm to 9 pm where she will be reading from her book Drunk Chickens and Burnt Macaroni: Real Stories of Afghan Women.
 This narrative non-fiction provides a remarkable insight into the lives of women – and their families – in Afghanistan, where Mary worked for several years. As well as reading some extracts from the book and answering questions, she will be taking along some images and artefacts from Afghanistan. If anyone has ever wondered how it feels to wear a burqa, now’s the chance to come and try one on.

To book for the event on Saturday, 9 March calls Rupinder Dulay on 1556 611686 or email: info@nailfactory.org.uk
