Fresh Start - New Dates Added Due to Demand

No sooner were young pop beat combo Fresh Start reaching the end of their acclaimed SouthWest Scottish tour than they decided to go back on the road again........new dates revealed below:

If you haven't heard Fresh Start in action then you will have heard muttering about what they are doing for sure.....you might have even picked up on the whisperings at national level that 'something is happening in D+G'.....you might have heard that our Council is holding out for culture whilst others are slashing arts budgets to the bone. Something powerful and new is growing in our region and everyone needs to take note - if only, to be able to have an informed opinion when things are discussed. This is about creative folk working together for the greater good....that means YOU.

June 6th : Wigtown County Buildings 2 - 4pm
June 6th : The Stove (100 High St, Dumfries, DG1 2BJ)  6.30pm
June 7th : Council Chambers, Daar Road, Kirkudbright, 10-12pm
June 7th: Upper Eskdale Community Hub, The Old School House, Eskdalemuir 3-5pm

Fresh Start for the Arts - Feedback Matters says Culture Matters!

You are invited to attend open presentations on the draft plans for a new arts-led vision for the arts in D+G - a chance to have your say before these ideas are formally presented to the wider world. Peter Stark and Kathleen O'Neill will lead 4 events across the region between June 6-7th to present their current view.

The voice of the sector is crucial at this time, and we look forward to exciting and informative discussion.

We urge anyone who is interested in future prospects for D&G arts to come along - and to make sure that colleagues too are aware of these events.
Presentations to date have proved very worthwhile for all who took part, and are highly valued by the Culture Matters team and the D&G Arts Partnership

  1. Am I alone in wondering what the big picture is here? Maybe the D&G Arts Partnership, referred to above, could provide some sort of timetable or map for the overall Fresh Start for the Arts project?....I think this would be very helpful in helping people understand how they can contribute to this undoubtably important procedure
