Were you to have studied our now famous EAFS Context Map you'd have seen Nithsdale portrayed as a place shaped by its river...its writers, poets, songs....its land art....its industry and its contact with far-off lands.
The long-anticipated Nithsdale EAFS Satellite Weekend reflects all of the above - the running order is as follows:
Friday 20th September
Performance by Robin Williamson - Kirkmahoe Concerts presents the multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and founder of the legendary Incredible String Band. An evening to delight Robin’s many followers, old and new.Time: 7.30pm 20/09/2013

Saturday 21st September
1.EAFS @ A’ the Airts
Location: A’ the Airts, 8-12 High Street, Sanquhar, DG4 6BL- ALL DAY - Exhibition of Crawick Artland Project Plans (A reclamation plan for open-cast mining sites near Sanquhar – led by world-renowned land artist Charles Jencks)
- 1.30pm - Illustrated Talk and Site Visit to Crawick Artland
- 3pm – Screening of rare footage of Andy Goldsworthy at work
- 6.30pm – Evening Reception and Film Double Bill ‘Local and Global’:‘Koyaanisqatsi – Life Out of Balance’ (dir Godfrey Reggio, music by Phillip Glass) AND ‘O Joys an Tears’ (a unique documentary tracing the history of the Sanquhar area)
2. Nithraid by The Stove

2. Dumfries Youth Theatre: Blood Orange
Time: Two performances: 6pm and 8pm 22/09/2013Location: Chancers Nightclub, 25 Munches Street, Dumfries, DG1 1ET
Blood Orange is a brand new piece of theatre created by Dumfries Youth Theatre. It premiers as part of the Environmental Art Festival Scotland’s Satellite Weekends and takes a gritty look at racism and other dark issues of contemporary life.
The all-controlling authority is about to take a cruel bashing and the oranges are not the only fruit.
Booking: Tickets are £9.50 each and are available at the Midsteeple, Dumfries. (Due to adult nature of some of the material in this show entry is limited to over 16s only)
