Question Time: Curriculum For Excellence

From Eva Milroy

• What is Curriculum for Excellence? • What are National 5s? • Why are Standard Grades phased out? • What will these changes mean for the skills of young recruits? • How will this affect me and my business?

Following on from the successful Q&A event Crichton Institute held in Lockerbie earlier in the year, we have decided to run a similar event in the west of the region.

Creebridge House Hotel in Newton Stewart on 24 September, 1730 hrs to 1930 hrs

This summer a large number of 15 and 16 year olds received results for the new National 4 and National 5 exams, which have replaced Standard Grades. The change is part of the Curriculum for Excellence programme, but what does this change mean for the pupils? How does this affect the skills they learn and in turn, how does this affect employers? To find out more about Curriculum for Excellence and the changes to teaching come and join us at the in Newton Stewart.

To register for the event, head to the eventbrite webpage here
