Invitation to the Stove's AGM

PUBLIC NOTICE
On behalf the Board it gives us great pleasure to give you notification of and invite you to The Stove Network AGM 2014.



This years AGM is a bit special as it is integrated into our next artwork event Parking Space (see event description below)
The Stove Network AGM 2014:
Date: 17th October
Time: 6pm
Location: NCP Southergate Car Park, Shakespeare Street, Dumfries DG1 2JD (please park in Brooms Road Car Park…see maps below)

The AGM will be divided into two halves – the formal business section first – to be followed by a facilitated discussion and light supper. After the AGM further refreshment will be available and the chance to see elements of the Parking Space artwork including a special feature film screening. The AGM is open to the general public and is advertised on our website as such – however only Stove Network members will be able to contribute to and vote in Part 1 of the meeting.

Part 1
Formal Business – running from 6.15 – 7.40
1. All current Directors are standing for re-election. If anyone is interested in joining the board, please contact our Chairman, David Smith (cc’d) in advance of the AGM
2.’Any Other Competent Business’ in this section is for formal business only – please submit any items in advance to ailsa@thestove.org and keep points for discussion regarding the practice and operation of The Stove Network for the second part of the AGM

Part 2
An open discussion on the role of public art generally and the practice of The Stove Network specifically – to be led by visiting artists from public art collectives dot to dot active arts and Open Jar Collective and framed around the Situations UK ‘New Rules for Public Art’
1. Intro and initial provocations/comments
2. Supper and chat at tables
3. Facilitated discussion and close
The AGM will finish no later than 9.30pm

Parking Space artworks, refreshments and a feature film screening will continue until 11.30pm

Parking Space is the latest in the year-long TheStove@TheStove series of temporary public art projects for Dumfries.
Over two days, Parking Space sees an underground car park transformed through a series of film and moving image installations, late night film screenings, discussion evenings, street games, street food and skateboarders.
Parking Space is a free drop-in event, stop by and explore the familiar made new.
17th and 18th of October 2014. NCP Southergate Car Park, Shakespeare Street, Dumfries.
