L4T is a large scale outreach and research project
designed to find disabled individuals who could be the professional actors and
theatre makers of tomorrow. We will find partner groups and venues through
which we will deliver educational workshops building towards an intensive
summer programme in 2015.
'Man Who Live Twice' - Birds of Paradise Theatre |
In partnership with Birds of Paradise Theatre, Scotland’s
leading disability theatre company, Electric Theatre Workshop are supporting
this exciting new project ‘Looking 4 Talent’ by inviting any local organisations
or services who support disabled individuals or groups who would be interested
to learn more about this exciting new opportunity.
Due to the time of year and the short notice that was
given to people for this event there has only been couple of organisations who
have said they can make this.
To fully embrace this opportunity for our region the
Birds of Paradise Theatre and Electric Theatre Workshop have decided to
reschedule this event for Tuesday the 6th of January @ 11am in Electric
Theatre Workshop, 28 Munches Street, Dumfries, DG1 1ET.
To learn more information for your organisation or group
then please come along to this information session.
If you wish to attend this meeting to find out more about
the project then please RSVP to justin@electrictheatreworkshop.com
We
know there are disabled people around the country with the talent and
desire to be engaging performers but they haven’t been offered the
opportunity to develop this talent. The 2012 Paralympics Opening
Ceremony was the perfect evidence of this - disabled people got involved
due to the profile of the event and discovered a whole world of
disability arts and artists that had been unknown to them. Birds of
Paradise Theatre Company have designed the Looking 4 Talent (L4T)
programme to find and nurture this talent and, in doing so, to bring
more disabled people in to Scottish theatre.
Also if you know of any organization, community group, or
individual who may be interested in this project please forward this email onto
them.
Kind Regards
Justin
