In Our Town...free events on Dumfries High Street

Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival has been running a series of event on the High Street Dumfries. There is some great photo’s from events that ran over June and July available on http://dgartsfest.posterous.com/.

Highlights include
Sat 10 Sept 6pm Emily Smith and Band

Dumfries & Galloway's Emily Smith is one of the leading singers of the contemporary Scottish Folk Scene. Her powerful, clear vocals have gained her award winning, worldwide recognition. As a songwriter Emily has been likened to 'a Scottish Joni Mitchell', but as a passionate collector she is equally adept at presenting fresh and evocative interpretations of traditional songs.
Emily Smith doing a full set. Support act at 6pm Emily starts at 7. (This is a seated outdoor event)
Sat Aug 20 9-5pm- High St Craft Fair
A Crafty Fayre, including wood turning and pottery demonstrations, and a chance to view and buy Ceramics by Andrew Adair, Original Prints by Val McAdam, Willow Baskets by Jackie Adam, and Woodworks by Brian Conchie,
Thurs Aug 11  1pm & 3pm- The Balloonatic.
International street performer and Britain’s Got Talent contestant Steve Cousins, brings something a little different to the High Street.
