ROBIN LAING APPEARS AT A’ THE AIRTS, SANQUHAR

From James Gracie

Robin Laing, Scotland’s renowned whisky bard, is appearing in an evening of songs and whisky at A’ the Airts, Sanquhar’s arts centre, on Friday December 7 at 7.30pm. Called The Angel’s Share, his show will take the audience on a journey through the mysteries of malt whisky in an interesting, informative and light-hearted way. One of Scotland’s most renowned singer/songwriters, Robin has written four books on uisge beatha, the ‘water of life’, and has recorded many songs, which are available on a series of CDs. His show uses songs and stories to illustrate the pleasures of drinking and appreciating a good single malt, and the audience will have the opportunity to taste a small range of whiskies.

The event will warm you up on a cold Friday evening, and should prove very popular, so book your tickets now by phoning A’ the Airts on 01659 50514 between 10am and 4pm. Or if you live nearby, you can call in. The cost is £10 for a ticket that includes a tasting, and £7.50 for a ticket that includes soft drinks.

The evening is sponsored by Bladnoch Distillery and The Scotch Malt Whisky Society.
